Tattoo

I'm really digging the book of Ephesians right now.
It's the first time I've ever read it but in the 2nd chapter it fully throws out the modern-day protestant/catholic position against Tattoo's.

The verse that is commonly used to back up the opposition to tattooing of our bodies is Leviticus 19:28: "Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD," which is found in the Old Testament. While the Old Testament consists of well over half the material in the bible and holds all of the prophecies dealing with the coming of Jesus Christ and the "Covenant" that the ancient Jews were required to keep was fulfilled when Jesus was crucified and resurrected. It says repeatedly throughout the New Testament that the old law has been fulfilled.

It reiterates that point here in Ephesians 2:15: "by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations."

Another argument that my tradition brothers and sisters in Christ will use is that "our body is a temple for the Lord." This is ironic because for your body to be a place where the holy spirit of God lives you have to be a born-again Christian or at some point in your life prayed to receive Jesus, which many of the people who have given me that argument were not "Christians (followers of Christ)" but rather they were "Church-Goers" who did not have the Holy Spirit. Anyway so here is the verse that's been thrown at me out of context for most of my life,
Ephesians 2:21-22: "In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."

Yea so does it say anywhere there that you are an actual temple? No it says that we are a dwelling for Gods spirit to live, and if you are a fat middle-aged white man or house mom you are doing a worse job than us with our Tattoo's. This is not to say that you should go out and tattoo on your body something stupid like a clown-face or something that says "F the world" because thats just retarded. Obviously we should take care of our body but when we have really thought it out and want to get a Tattoo that we will still enjoy 20 years from now there is NO BIBLICAL argument against it.

Remember it!
